Bangkok-based freelance photographer Matt Burns began his career 27 years ago. @ age 16 he worked as an assistant to many prominent Sydney advertising and fashion photographers with his first job being in Leighton Studios, Chippendale for 2 years, then on to work for the late David Haddon who speacialised in fashion advertising photography for 3 years. Whilst learning his trade he began to gain his own clients, then @ 21 he travelled overseas throughout Asia and Europe working for the next 11 years basing his business in South East Asia. His reputation quickly spread as a hotel advertising and travel magazine photographer as well as a photojournalist working as staff photographer for Art-Asia Press & Asia Images based in Bangkok Thailand. This type of work involved travelling all over the world covering many diverse assignments. 12 years ago he returned to Australia for an assignment on the Olympic Torch Relay and remained there for 10 years working in various Sydney Studios and regularly on Mitsubishi TVC’s for ADK Agency out of Tokyo. He founded and is currently the director of S.E.A Images Co Ltd Thailand in early 2009. His area of expertise is people, hotel advertising, weddings,architecture and travel photography.
